Novel Monotony

This weekend has been a weekend like many others. The girls came down from L-Town, we hung around and did things for a few days, and then they headed back. Pretty boring from a macro perspective. On the other hand, there were two significant events from a caching perspective, the first being …

… that I received the hard souvenir for streaking! Considering the length of my streak before this, I didn’t think I would miss it, but it was a nice little something extra. I knew it would happen eventually, so the suspense was finally resolved. The second could be more visual, but I won’t make it so because the internet can be a cruel mistress. I got a new (to me) vehicle over the weekend. It is far roomier and more dependable than my previous car (which still drives beautifully; it’s all the things around the engine and drivetrain that are falling apart), and it has me thinking about road trips again. No, I can’t go yet; I still have something I have to do first, and my next trip is already mostly planned. But Thanksgiving might have some possibilities. I might get out of this year with two trips under my belt, and that would be a good way to end the year.

Other than that, I got nothing. Not every weekend is filled with thrilling action and happenstances or deep thought and reflection. Most of the time, it’s just day-to-day life with caching breaking up the monotony. But at least this weekend was good monotony. I’ll take it.
