
Having made my way over the Misty Mountains, through stunning vistas and travails beyond number (ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration), I finally arrived at the Grand County Courthouse. I expected Hot Sulphur Springs to be something more grand than the little town it was, probably because of all the ski communities I passed through on the way there. Then again, being that close to the mountains makes a person feel smaller than they are. There are fewer illusions of grandeur in the shadows of the sleeping giants. Besides, all that really mattered was the cache.
