886. Marietta, Cobb County (GA006)

For a little bit, I was worried that I was going to be in a similar situation as Atlanta where I wouldn’t be able to tell what was this or what was that from a courthouse perspective.  When I pulled up to the courthouse square in Marietta though, there was no question as it dominated the square, flagpoles featured prominently.  Totally the courthouse.  Now, was it a good courthouse?  That’s an entirely different question.  And who am I to judge?  For those of you who are long time readers, I psychically feel your laughter.  For those of you who are not longtime readers, I will judge the crap out of a courthouse.  I’m not in love with this one, either.  I don’t like the asymmetry or the way it’s trying to play both modern and antique and failing on both counts.  I’m not going to talk crap about it, but I am not impressed.  It’s just not good.
