911. Magnolia, Pike County (MS21)

Another lovely little chonker of a courthouse, no?  And yet, they named the county after Zebulon Pike, the guy who couldn’t get to the top of a mountain?  What’s up with that?  In all fairness to Pike, I too would have trouble climbing a mountain in waist deep snow after not having eaten in two days.  Unlike him, I’ve been to the top of a fourteener, but only because I drove up all but 150 feet of it.  But enough about old Zeb.  I was only stopping in Magnolia for a few minutes.

The cache was a park and grab which, like Livingston, was at City Hall which used to be the rail station.  Better to repurpose than to tear them down (unless necessary, that is).  There was also a Multi-cache at the courthouse I considered, but who has time for that?  I was on the way home and I needed to move.  Once I had returned the cache to resting place, I was off again for…
