Lessons? Not Really, I Think…

This is the place where I consider the just finished trip and consider what I did wrong and what I can do better for the next one. Thing is, I honestly can’t think of anything I did wrong. In fact, other than a short detour between Port Lavaca and Edna caused by road work, the entire thing went swimmingly. It all went so well that I had time to hit an extra county on the trip. I honestly don’t think it could have gone any better than it did. Twelve new counties? I’ll take it!

Since I was on the road back home and didn’t have any time strictures, I stopped in the counties on the way back to Austin to pick up a few caches. This one in Dime Box was annoying, but not for the reason you think. The cache was a bison on the fence but someone who didn’t find it decided to leave a magnetic key box on the structure as a throwdown. I decided to co-opt the throwdown. I took out the log and left a message saying “Nope! Keep looking!” I grabbed a couple more in counties on the way. Ended up with 15 counties in one day. I grabbed one in Austin to make a 16th, but didn’t make Project-GC‘s cut off. Again, I’ll take it. An excellent day, the back half of an excellent weekend.

Of course, the least I can do is leave you with a few photos from the trip.

Oh, and don’t forget to tune in Monday. Remember I mentioned that I skipped over a trip to maintain the narrative after the Mega? Well, I finished writing all those, too. Kick back, relax, and enjoy what caching came before this… And by the time it’s done? Well, anything can happen, no?
