391. Prescott, Nevada County (AR17)

Welcome back to scenic Arkansas. I must admit that I felt a little bit cheated on the way here because I didn’t get that lovely British voice saying “Welcome to Arkansas.” I also got here pretty late/early (depending on your perspective), so I decided to go ahead and see if I could get some photography done. Luckily, there’s a ton of ambient light around here so it was really easy for me to get some shots.

The courthouse was already outfitted for Christmas, which in any other year would bug the crap out of me. I mean, it’s only Thanksgiving so it’s barely even time for that yet. That being said, the way this year has gone, at this point, I don’t even care. If Christmas stuff gets you through the night, more power to you. I will leave my complaints about such things until next year when, hopefully, we will not be living in such dystopian cholera infested times.

The cache itself was a preform in the knot of a tree. There used to be an American Legion Hall on the lot where this tree grows, and, more specifically, a bench at the foot of this tree. Unfortunately, they are here no longer. I don’t know if this place fell victim to economics, or because of a new building, or something other that I didn’t think of, but my subsequent investigations (all 15 minutes of them) found nothing to illuminate the mystery.
