So, I’m pretty blasé and jaded when it comes to caches. As a previously mentioned consequence, I am not exactly liberal with my disbursement of favorite points. When I discuss them, I often use the phrase “stingily hoarded,” and having almost seven hundred favorites remaining, I feel that is an accurate assessment. Imagine my surprise to find myself awarding one on a new cache. It wasn’t epic or impressive, like some I have seen. It was small, simple, and, as much as I don’t like to admit it, cute. Who knew that a simple little lizard and some static grass in a box would be enough to earn my favor?
I think this is where I should say that favorites exist for a reason. We all know that they’re to designate especially clever or entertaining caches. But I guess what I really want to say here is that you shouldn’t be like me. I have a tendency to be especially judgmental when it comes to caches. I have to be really impressed with one to give it a favorite, and that bar has slowly risen over the years. There are caches I was once impressed with that I wouldn’t think twice about now. Not that I never give them more frivolously (I once gave a cache a favorite merely because it was named after my favorite TV show), but you don’t have to be like me. There are a lot of cachers who spend time, money, and energy creating caches for our consumption. You can easily make someone’s day by leaving a favorite point to show that you appreciate their efforts. And it’s not like favorites are a rare commodity to be dispensed with great caution and care. You can spread them around on a whim! So, what’s stopping you? I know why I don’t spread them around. I can’t help being blasé and jaded. But don’t be like me. Share the love! You have it to give!

That *is* cute!
