They Call Me Bilbo Swaggins

…not to be mistaken for the cacher of similar name who found five caches over a decade ago.

I made an unexpected trip up to L-Town and while I was up there, I took advantage of an opportunity. As mentioned previously, I had an odd D/T for a Treasure that I needed (1.0/2.5). It was hard to come by in the Austin area because I’ve been caching here for so long that I’d gotten all but the most inconvenient of them locally (they’re pretty much low-hanging fruit for me). Searching the state for that D/T revealed that there was one in Longview. I wasn’t planning on going up for a few weeks, but since I had to go, I took the opportunity to go get it. Another Treasure collection complete and a souvenir to boot! Now I have to start looking for small caches with multiple favorites along with regulars and up with a couple of favorites and some more Events. These are definitely ones I’m going to have to juggle around with other collections because a couple of new Earthcaches have popped up recently and I may just say to heck with it and go get that final D3.0 that requires a special tool. Being able to put active ones on deck to focus on has a use, but it’s mildly annoying to have to move one collection to of from the fore because you’re kind of working on them all. Of course, my complaints are my own. Whatever works for the community as a whole is (probably) better in the greater scheme of things. It’s just minorly annoying for me.

That said, I sat down during a TV show and began making swag for the first time in a few years. I still had a substantial box of charms from the last time I had acquired some. I picked up bottle caps from a brewing shop in town that is more inconvenient than the last place I got them, but maybe a hair cheaper than before (though not cheap enough to matter materially). I began to think about picking up some epoxy for them (part of the reason I stopped making them was the realization that hot glue wasn’t suited to the Texas sun), but I realized that I had a big old tube of E6000 that I picked up for cache building purposes that works splendidly for this. So now I have uni-coins again for the first time in a long time. Now all I need are caches that are suitable for leaving swag…
