Yes, I have seen worse courthouses but, for my own sense of sanity, I’m going to assume that they did the best they could with what they had. Maybe Stanton is a newer town or maybe they had an older, nicer courthouse and lost it to some kind of natural disaster. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The cache brought me to a Carnegie Library (which undercuts the possibility that Stanton is a newer town). I hadn’t seen one in a minute, and the cache was supposed to be easy. It was well off GZ though, but there were only a few places it could be within thirty feet. It had been threatening to rain on the way to the county and finally began to drizzle. The light misting began to fall harder as I grabbed the cache. While the rain felt nice in the morning air, and though I knew I could count on my trusty umbrella, my worry was of a slightly different nature. While extreme heat and sunlight sap my energy, rain makes me tired and more prone towards sleep. A little rain wouldn’t be an issue, but it would be if it got suitably strong considering I had driven all night to get to Nebraska and was running on less rest than I might have normally had. The local weather forecasts had rain on the horizon for the weekend so I was going to have to watch out for that and mitigate its effects the best I could.
