Opportunity Calls

… but I hate the reason.

Last week, I learned that my aunt passed away. I was quite fond of her and she of me. Arrangements for her funeral have been made, which means that later this week, I’m going to be going up to Denver to celebrate her life and mourn her death. While I was quite fond of her, my relationships with many of my other relatives run more of a gamut (families being what they are). While I have a couple of uncles and cousins whom I will be happy to see, I have little desire to spend time with a lot of other kin. I arrive on Thursday morning, leave on Sunday night, and have the funeral on Friday afternoon. I’ve got to do something with all that extra time, right? So, I’m going to pick up some counties while I’m there.

At an absolute minimum, I’m going to fill a hole in my map on the outskirts of Denver that I couldn’t get the last time I was there. I also need to go back to Cheyenne for a physical cache so I can actually start Cache Across Wyoming and The New Wyoming County Challenge in earnest. I wish I had my three days all together. If I did, I promise you I would be finishing Colorado. Since I don’t, I have other things in mind. Regardless, I’ll be back out on the road for a bit. I don’t like going into detail about my plans because I like to maintain some mystery. Also, I never know when I may have to change plans on the fly. But let’s just say, depending on the timing of some of it, I may have to severely bend or possibly break one of my hardest standing rules. But I’ll cross that bridge when or if I get to it. Hopefully, that bridge will not be covered in snow (yes, snow in Colorado is quite possible, even in May).
