This preform strapped in a tree is the physical incarnation of the Permian Basin County Challenge. And, of course, it turned out to be quite important since I logged it as both my first 5/5 and my 1000th cache. Was it worth the drive? Well, driving so much at night would cost me the next day so there are at least 3 counties I didn’t go to because of it, possibly/probably more. But I’ll get to them in time. So the answer is a resounding yes. I’ve heard other cachers talk about traveling one or two hours or more to get a certain cache. Well, now I’ve done it, too.
