283. Oak Grove, West Carroll Parish (LA28)

Quite respectable… It’s a bit funny because I didn’t immediately notice it at first. I pulled up and saw across the street…

…this theater. The first words in my head were What year is this? before I looked over and saw the center of county administration. The traditional efforts began to document the memories the county saw fit to place on its demense.

Somewhere around here, I noticed something that hadn’t registered consciously. If you check out that plaque above, you’ll see it’s honoring a Revolutionary War figure. It finally registered that I’m seeing more from the Daughters of the American Revolution than I am from the Daughters of the Confederacy. Those Revolutionary War vets moved out here and eventually died here and I expect I’ll see more of that as I go east. Once that was all mentally processed, I got ready to look for a cache.
