Another Day, Another Cache

Just what the title says… This was a nice little cache, worthy of note but stuck in a weird place, along a walking trail with no parking to speak of. The closest parking was a school, and, because of the time of day, that was not a wise place to do so. I ended up having to park at a nearby apartment complex and go from there. At the same time, it’s not like I had to tromp miles through the bush to get it either. Perhaps urban caching is spoiling me a little? Or maybe it’s my desire to maintain my streak (1396 days as of this writing) that’s made me soft?

Annoyances aside, trip planning continues apace. I’ve made my lists and keep tweaking my routes, trying to save miles and time wherever I can. I fear I will create another salient like the one I made on my trip to Indiana, but it’s something I’ll learn to live with (just like I did with my trip to Indiana). Even thinking about getting back out there again feels a little heady. I wish I had the time or the wherewithal to take a three- or four-day (trip) every other month. I could cover a lot of ground if I could drive a day away, spend a couple of days passing through counties, and drive a day back. Little in the continental US would be beyond my reach. Seeing that I am neither rich nor retired, I don’t think that’s going to be an option for me anytime soon. Until that day, all I can do is keep on keeping on. Each day with a cache is (usually) a good day spent.
