Let’s eat turkey in a big brown shoe!
I’m sure that those of you who are not in the United States are vaguely aware that Thanksgiving is upon us! No matter where you stand on the question of the holiday’s roots—a touching feast of cooperation or harbinger of the twilight of Native Americans—it has become a feast of family and friendship. People travel to their homes and break bread with the people they love. Or travel to their friends’ homes and enjoy companionship. Or kick back and enjoy a football game (this year, both kinds are on the table)! I myself am going to spend time practicing one of my other passions: baking pies. Consequently, there will not be an entry on Friday. I will be too busy playing board games and consuming leftovers.
What matters, though, is that I hope you have a good time with the people you care about, no matter where you are, what you’re doing, or who you’re doing it with. May you have all the food your dietary restrictions allow. May you have all the warmth of a safe and friendly hearth. And, if you can find time for it when you snap out of your food-induced napping, may your caching be fun!
I’ll see you all on Monday!
Board games? What board games are we taking about? Monopoly? Settlers of Catan? Terraforming Mars? Bloodrage? Scythe?

I’m not the one hosting so I don’t know exactly what we’ll be playing, but I suspect it’ll be Gloomhaven: Jaws Of The Lion. We haven’t played Terraforming Mars in a bit, but that could be fun. Part of me would like something kinda beer and pretzels like Space Cadets or Big Trouble In Little China. I just know I won’t be in the mood for High Frontier or anything that deep.
