… it becomes necessary for one region to prepare a competing team for Texas Challenge, odds are incredibly good that corresponding Events will be held to prepare and plan our ultimate victory over the foul and most foreign interlopers from the other regions. This time, though, it was less deep planning and strategy and more an excuse for a bunch of cachers to gather and have some burgers while those of us competing discuss ideas. I’m not captaining the team this year. Since the girls are coming with me to Challenge this year, it is more important for me to be a good steward of my children than to command the team. Team Bklyn (BklynTex1015 and TexBklyn1015) has graciously accepted the challenge (you see what I did there?) to lead us to victory (or mild annoyance)! Unexpectedly (to me), a pair of newer cachers from Georgetown came down to join us at the Event! It’s always nice to see new folks. Not that long ago I was them, new and inexperienced, sheepishly meeting folks who had been in the mix for a long time, never suspecting that some would become good friends. I can only hope we’ll be seeing more of these two.
Just as importantly, and on a more personal note, I’m going to be a guest on another podcast! I have been invited to be on the Caching in the NorthWest podcast! On the night of Thursday, February 22, at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time (11:00 p.m. Central time), I’ll be talking about my travels around the Pacific Northwest and whatever other subjects come up over the course of the hour (or more). I shall endeavor to be my witty, charming self, but no guarantees! At that hour, I may very well be in my pajamas, so since clothes make the man or some kind of crap like that, who knows what will come out of my late-night brain? I don’t!
Otherwise, it’s probably the beginning of a relatively normal week. No giant plans, no great schemes, just a new Monday. That only leaves a month to prepare for Wichita Falls. We will not come to play; we will come to win!
