831. Harrisburg, Banner County (NE29)

Well, I’ve seen worse. Much worse. Considering that the town had a population on par with Paint Rock or even Mosquero, it would do. It was a plain courthouse for a plain, barely countable people (seriously, 99 people in town, 675 in the entire county). That said, we are not impressed.

I took a quick jaunt over to the Banner County Museum and found a series of restored buildings behind it. One of them was a pioneer church, and someone was kind enough to leave a cache there for anyone passing through. It was a nice chance to get a feeling for the flavor of the county (and taking a peek in the outhouse will definitely give you a sense of the flavor: somewhere between Saw and Hee Haw), but how much flavor can you have when you have a fraction of the population of Paint Rock?
