At the moment, I am finishing packing my bag. Tomorrow morning, the girls and I are jumping in the car and, after hitting a few Texas counties on the way, heading north to Norman for CacheFest Oklahoma! This will be my first attendance at CacheFest of any kind. Unfortunately, I missed both of the Memphis ones—one because of financial reasons and the other because, well, you know. But seeing as I have family in Norman, I was pretty much contractually obligated to go this year. I also went and volunteered for one of the Events, specifically A Night At The Noble. Not to give away the whole show, but it may be the first time in my life that I wear a nemes somewhat unironically. The Mega itself is on Saturday, and I will be spending part of it operating a booth for the TXGA. If you’re in the area, drop by and say hello! Or not. I’m not the boss of you! I’ll forgive you if you’re too busy getting your proverbial cache on. Personally, I have a caching goal I wish to attend to. I have long held that the Necropolis at Britannia Manor is the best cache I have ever found. Sure, I’ve done others with far more favorites—and very clever ones at that—but none have surpassed it yet. But I’ve heard of one contender for the title, and it’s nearby. If all goes well, sometime Friday morning, the girls and I will attempt the Infernal Device.
It should all be a few days of caching, frivolity, and hijinks. Or some kind of crap like that. If I have time, I may even sample some food recommendations I’ve been given (though nota bene: slaw sauce sounds like my nightmare). And, what the heck! I might even tell you all about it!

I thought about going out since my daughter and her husband live nearby in Yukon, but me and heat do not get along. I’ll stay in the northeast with 80 degree weather all weekend.
