It was a weird situation I found myself in. Usually if I have trouble photographing a courthouse, it’s because there are too many treesand I have to remind the Future Arborists of America about some best practices. In Denison though, the problem was too many flags! It doesn’t have a huge courthouse and for some reason I expected it to have a bigger footprint, but it had a good classical design and there was definitely no red rock.
Someone was kind enough to hide a cache at the courthouse for me (and by “me,” I mean everyone). The cache hint said that it was in one of the bushes by the front door. Luckily, a recent finder pointed out that it was a fake rock, which was helpful because I had been rooting through the bushes to no avail. Once I stopped thinking about shrubbery, I was good. I thought I had been unlucky. I was just not looking by the side of the building. Also, the fake rock in question, while mass produced, was not a design I was familiar with. When you see fake rocks over and over again, you get to recognize the shapes and details of them, but I guess not every fake rock is made the same way. I guess I learned something, eh?
