983. Vienna, Maries County (MO044)

Once again, just like in Linn, I wasn’t in love with the courthouse.  But I guess it wasn’t bad.  For some reason, it made me think of Island County, but not…  It just had this weird, premolded sense to it that I didn’t know quite what to make of.  The vibes were weird as the kids would say.  I was quickly corrected by my daughter that the kids would say the vibes were off.  Whatever anyone says, the courthouse vibes were unquestionably all kerfuzzzled.

I considered the possibility of going to the closest cache which was a block and a half from the courthouse, but I ended up dragging us to the easiest cache our trip was coming to an end and I didn’t want our penultimate stop to be any more complicated than it needed to be.  We puled into a chain grocery store, parked under its sign, and found a small cap and cap underneath a power junction box.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.  Sort of.  A long time baking under the Missouri sun did something to the glue holding the magnet.  It didn’t attach back in its hiding place as easily as it had when we found it, but we managed and then got back on the road, intent on reaching our final destination of the trip…
