See all those blue shirts? Those are the shirts of the folks who have finished the Texas County Challenge. Last time I was here, I was just a visitor. This time, I was one of the gang. I even got my blue shirt while I was here. There is a tradition where they bring out a giant wooden map of Texas. All the previous finishers sign it on the back. All the new finishers sign it on the front in the county in which they finished.

I hate having to give further credence to Dallas of all places, but I made my mark there. Atreides was, for good or for ill, here. And then we partied! We ate (though the looming pandemic made it complicated)! We drank (it was at a brewery, after all)! We got selfies (as you can notice at the top)! I got a loss returned! I bought myself a nametag, activated the code, and started making my identity trackable, but while I was navigating a tree during the Challenge I lost it. As fate would have it, a competitor from another team picked it up and managed to get it back to me! Unfortunately, the magnetic back was lost, but I think I can find a magnet or two to use for it! It was a good night and it flew by. I feel a little bit bad that I didn’t take a lot of photos, but after the long day I had I was feeling a bit self-indulgent. I earned this. In every way. In every sense. I earned this.
