The daily cache was acquired as you can see above. It’s part of a national series, Cache Across America. There’s fifty of them, one in each state, and a final that you can get if you have the appropriate codes from the appropriate caches. Even switched a couple of trackables, coincidentally, belonging to the same person. Even more importantly though, in a week I’m going to Shreveport and beginning northern Louisiana. I’m starting to feel anticipation of the joy of being on the road. I’m not going to lie: I’m not a fan of bayous and I have the feeling I’m going to be seeing a lot of them soon. But it’s a small price to pay to add more county equivalents to my list. Maybe I’ll pick up a few challenges while I’m at it. I’ve done the research and found a few that I already qualify for.

As a sidenote, I was approached about an opportunity. I joked about it before a little, but it turns out that the gang has actually been discussing the E.T. Highway. For those of you who are not familiar with it, there is a road in Nevada called the Extraterrestrial Highway. The Highway has around 2000 caches along it and a lot of cachers head out there to do the ultimate power trail: 1000 or more in twenty-four hours. I know that I haven’t done that many caches in the greater scheme of things. Heck, if I did this, it would add more than 50% to my cache total. Now, I don’t know when they’re looking at doing it, but I could make this happen. It’s not like my planned travel is happening and this would be an opportunity to pick up a couple of counties in Nevada, too. So I’m considering it. Of course, there will be details that will have to be considered, but I’m very much considering it. So watch this space. There may be another trip in the foreseeable future. We shall see…
ET Superhighway is on my bucket list too, just to challenge myself. I know a few people who have done it
