Yesterday, I went for my daily cache and one of the little gnomish freaks snuck up on me! Grrr!!! You have to remain ever vigilant lest they ruin you and all you love! Besides, I can only shake my fist at the heavens so much in defiance of gnomish indignity!
The next thing major thing looming in my caching calendar (other than Geocoinfest in Castle Rock because Colorado is not in my budget right now) is Lone Star Roundup near Huntsville. It’s far more sedate than Texas Challenge and there’s a charm to it that is nice. I haven’t been in the last couple of years, which is ironic because I put it on here in Austin in 2023 but had to skip the Event itself because I caught COVID. I didn’t go last year because life got in the way and I couldn’t drag myself out to West Texas. This year, it’s only a few hours jaunt away so I’m planning on going up for the day. To be terribly honest, given my position with the TXGA I feel attendance is a bit of a contractual obligation. I regret that I’m going to be missing the various side Events over the weekend but, again, real life and all that. There’s also a miniscule chance that I may get down to Houston. Not only do I have a town to hit there for the I’ve Been Everywhere Challenge, but I still have a final cache to find to complete the Baytown Geotour. No guarantees that I’ll get to either of those, but who knows what the future holds? We do what we can where we can.
I might go up to Temple tomorrow to find some caches. It’s only an hour away and I’ve been wanting to get back out of town more. I feel like I’ve taken a good bite out of San Marcos to the south and La Grange to the east. I remember being in Belton a while back, but I haven’t been to Temple for a bit. I need to find a few caches to scratch the itch and then do some cache page building in the afternoon/evening. So many things to do and so little time to do them…
That’s all. Yes, I know I’m boring today, but that’s alright. Some days I’m not.
