I have a few things I’m working on currently. Several are at least partially overlapping so that makes things a bit easier, no?
So, first and foremost, there is my stated goal, the point of all this documentation, The Texas County Challenge. I know this is a big one. Two hundred fifty-four counties, of which I have accomplished 5 (actually 8, but county seat/courthouse). I’ve got some work ahead of me. I’m hoping for my next leg to be Bryan/Caldwell/Giddings, but I don’t know. I’ve already made some preliminary plans for Fredericksburg/Johnson City, Waco/Belton, and Bastrop/La Grange. San Antonio/New Braunfels/San Marcos are on the menu, but I’m holding off on that one until later in the year because I want to do the Kyle Geotour when it gets cooler (that and they’re getting more coins in the fall).
Speaking of geotours, not only do I want to do Kyle, but I’m also hoping to do Brenham and Baytown (which also happens to have a Lab Cache, too) . I might be in the Houston area in a couple of weeks, which is near Baytown, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do the Lab cache since I’m going to be doing mostly kid related stuff, but one can hope. If I end up going, I’ll at least be able to knock out Houston and maybe one other (Columbus? Or maybe Richmond/Bellville?).
I’m also working on the Texas Cemetery Cache Challenge. This should be pretty easy, but it’s going to take time. I’ve only managed about 30 at this point. However, something as simple as picking one up in each county will fix that soon enough and there’s usually several in each graveyard. I hope to accomplish this one by the end of next month, if not sooner.
That’s what I have in the hopper for the next couple of months to a year. With luck, I might get lucky enough to do one or two multi-county trips into South Texas before the end of the year, but I’m not going to bet money on it. Even if I don’t, I’ve still got things to work on. And, of course, I still have to keep finding one every day for a while anyway. I think I’ve got my hands full for now…
